“Tru Dat” is an American Grammy nominated record producer/songwriter currently signed to Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) under “Goooooooo!!! Music”, which consists of super producers Pop & Oak who are the masterminds behinds hits such as Nicki Minaj’s “Your Love”, Big Sean’s “Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay” and more recently Tory Lanez “Say it “ and Alessia Cara’s breakout smash “Here” along with many others. Tru has been in the studio with many artists from the likes of Chris Brown, Miley Cyrus, Kelly Rowland, Ty Dolla Sign, & many more, & was a part of the magic behind Usher’s smash 2014 hit “Good Kisser”, which garnished 2015 Grammy nominations under the categories for “Best R&B Song” & “Best R&B Performance” (both categories were won by Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love”). Tru also solo produced an intro track for Jill Scott on her Billboard #1 Chart topping album “Woman” in 2015 called “Willing interlude”. Tru, born Terry Sneed, Jr., was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He showed an early interest in music and joined the band where he learned to play the snare drum and eventually the drum set altogether with few drum lessons. He also taught himself guitar through tablature and bass in the same fashion. Tru relocated to Lancaster after his mother remarried at the age of 11. He put his first beat together in Fruityloops 2 (now FL Studio) at age 15 and fell in love immediately. Tru went on to be known as “the Beat Man” throughout his high school years at Penn Manor and throughout Lancaster and eventually partnered up with mutual friends to host a recording studio at Mulberry Arts Center, called Studio 119, which eventually moved to the Old WLAN building on Queen street & became “The Wreck Room”. After making contacts through twitter via email, Tru met Pop Wansel and the two began a business venture which started as an “internship” and turned into the magic there is today. Tru is currently working on heightening his songwriting and production in order to make his own mark in the industry in 2016
